M.I.A: My camera and I.

(My mum, my daughters, myself and my Nana on Easter Sunday - Yes, you have seen a similar pic before. I was HUGE, Sylvie had almost arrived and I was wearing the same top. Opps.)

Argghh, I have lost my camera! (Who does that?!?) Which is the reason why I have been missing-in-action from my blog of late, so I managed to poach the above shot from a family member for your viewing pleasure!

So many exciting things have been happening!!! Including the beautiful wedding we went to on our one year wedding anniversary. I have captured so much of it all on camera, which, I'm hoping is temporarily misplaced. (Read: Not gone forever.)

Another cute post

I seem to be surrounded by an influx of babies at the moment. Not just my little 11 weeker, but it seems to be the time in my life that people are starting to pop little bundles out.

Before Claudia was born I wouldn't say I was much of a clucky person. Of course I thought babies were cute, but I did used to think that they all looked the same, and never was too keen on holding them, mostly because I was scared of dropping or breaking them. (And my arm would get sore because I never quite had the right technique and was scared to move.)

However, now I have turned into that crazy baby lady. I just want to hold them! Often I restrain myself from snatching them from their mothers, because these days babies just make me a little mushy.

Can you blame me??

A Tip

When I find a yummy recipe in a book or magazine I write the whole thing out. Super annoying when you're somewhere like the doctors waiting room, but a quick tip from my sis has me rather excited...

A few clicks on my camera and I have the whole thing, just like that!

Am I slow to jump on this or is it a good tip??

I also think that if I photographed and printed all of my recipes they would look fab in a recipe box. Aaaand you'd be able to wipe them clean if you printed them on matte paper.

Sweet!

Lemon Meringue Pie

This week was the first time I have ever made pastry from scratch. It was surprisingly fulfilling.

We ate two pies in two days. What? The first one was a practice one.

My cheerleaders and taste testers.

The yummiest bit of all - the filling.

It actually looks like a pie!?

Deliciously crisp and brown...

And then,

I didn't to get to take the best picture of the side on view because we were too busy munching... and then it was gone.

I definitely recommend Lemon Meringue Pie.

Go on.

Make two.

I did.

My Granny Stripe

My Granny Stripe - finished!!!

(Modeled by the Beautiful Claudia)

It is my first ever crochet creation, after I taught myself how to crochet last September using You Tube clips.

I must admit... I love my blanket!!!! I love how bright and warm and big it is!

I intend to eventually put it on a Claudias bed with beautiful crisp, white linen underneath. But first here are some more inspirational crochet blankets for beds...

And don't you just love this beautiful, bright baby blanket?

Lush!

For those interested I found Lucy from Attic24 really helpful, and her patterns are by far the easiest ones I have found to use.

Arrowtown and Lemon Meringue Pie

We are in Arrowtown this week.

Hag is playing his last game of cricket for the season here, and it is always a treat to come and stay with Grandma and Grandad who live here also.

Arrowtown is beautiful, and unfortunatley I left my camera cord at home so I cannot show the beautiful mountains that have just had their first sprinkling of snow for the season. (Already!?!) Yes it's cold, but we've rugged up warm (ahem/ been enjoying the underfloor heating at the grandparents pad) and I have decided to teach myself how to make one of these beauties...

Lemon Meringue Pie, oh yes please!

Other things that have been going on...

So stoked to catch up with 3 of my gorgeous girlfriends that live out of town (two who live overseas) over the last weekend and super gutted that I did not take ONE picture of any of us together. Who does that?!

Sylvie has decided that now she is almost 11 weeks old that she should be sleeping through the night... 8pm - 8am. No joke! She has slept like a log for 12 hours for the last 5 nights. Yussss! (Fingers and toes crossed I haven't just jinxed myself).

I love the fact that everytime we come here we drive past the venue that we got married at. Love it. Our 1 year wedding anniversary is only 10 days away!
